Gymnast Lindsay Kazandjian Earns First Career WAC Specialist of the Week Honor

DENVER - Boise State's Lindsay Kazandjian, along with Southern Utah's Gaby Grey have been named the WAC's Co-Specialists of the Week for Feb. 23-Mar. 1. San Jose State's Thomasina Wallace has been named the Western Athletic Conference Gymnast of the Week.


Kazandjian, a freshman from Las Vegas, Nev. (Coronado HS) earned her third title on beam this season, improving her career-best to a 9.900 at the Sacramento State tri meet. With three beam wins, Kazandjian moved into a three-way tie for ninth on the Boise State all-time single season beam wins list. She won the event by .750.


Grey, a freshman from Long Beach, Calif. (Marina HS) scored a career-high 9.900 on beam to capture the individual title at a dual meet against Brigham Young. The score was the highest mark during Southern Utah's 194.675-189.125 victory over the Cougars. The freshman also finished first on floor with a 9.850.  


Other Specialist of the Week nominees included: Cal State Fullerton senior Alana Mouery; San Jose State sophomore Lily Swann; and Utah State sophomore Nicole Simoneau.


Other Gymnast of the Week nominees included: Cal State Fullerton sophomore Alaina Baker; Southern Utah senior Kellie Dangerfield; and Utah State senior Nicki Felley.
