Remme Named MRGC Gymnast of the Week

LOGAN, Utah – For the third time this season, freshman Shani Remme was named the Mountain Rim Gymnastics Conference Gymnast of the Week for her performance last Friday at Utah State. Remme won the all-around title with a 39.175, and also tied for the win on balance beam with a 9.85.

The Broncos took down the Aggies 196.425 – 194.675 to tie for their highest score of the season. Boise State (9-0) scored over a 49 in every event for the first time this season and moved to 4-0 in the MRGC to improve their first-place position atop the conference.

Remme – a native of Loomis, Calif. – earned a 9.775 on vault, a 9.750 on bars and a 9.8 on floor. The 9.85 on beam ties for her second-highest beam score of the season and also is her seventh-straight beam score over 9.8. Her 9.83 RQS on beam ties her for 69th in the country and puts her third in the MRGC. The all-around title gives Remme her third all-around win of the season.

The Road To Natonals rankings were updated on Monday and the Broncos maintained their No. 11 ranking. Their RQS improved to 196.330, just .045 behind No. 10 Georgia (196.375 RQS).

In the national event rankings, the Broncos check in at No. 17 on vault (48.965 RQS), No. 9 on uneven bars (49.215 RQS), No. 23 on balance beam (48.935 RQS) and No. 13 on floor (49.155 RQS).

Boise State will take on Michigan State on Sunday, March 6 at 2 p.m. at Taco Bell Arena.
