The Road To Nationals team rankings for week eight of the 2017 season were announced Monday morning, and Boise State improved two spots and returned to the top 10 at No. 10. The Broncos posted a 196.675 this past Friday at No. 6 Alabama and were able to improve their team RQS to 196.605.

A team's RQS is calculated by first taking the six best team scores from the regular season, but three of the scores must come from away meets. The last step is eliminating the highest score from the six and averaging the remaining five scores.

Boise State has been ranked in the top 10 in three of the eight weekly polls so far this season. The Blue and Orange climbed to as high as No. 7 on Feb. 13. No. 10 Boise State is just one of two schools not from a Power Five Conference to make this week’s top 10.

1. Oklahoma 197.990
2. LSU 197.695
3. Florida 197.495
4. UCLA 197.305
5. Utah 197.180
6. Alabama 197.085
7. Denver 196.875
8. Georgia 196.820
9. Oregon State 196.635
10. Boise State 196.605

LOGAN, Utah – Boise State received more good news on Monday with the Mountain Rim Gymnastics Conference announcing their weekly award winners. Competing in just her second-career meet last Friday at Alabama, Alex Esmerian was able to earn a 9.925 to win beam and claim the Balance Specialist of the Week honors.

Going in the No. 5 spot, the junior from Auburn, Calif., came through big and performed a near-perfect routine to garner a 9.95 from one judge and a 9.9 from the other. With five hit routines in the bag, the Broncos were able to forgo their sixth position and conclude the meet with the 196.675.

Also claiming weekly accolades were Shani Remme and Courtney McGregor. Remme was named the conference’s Gymnast of the Week after recording a 39.375 in the all-around to claim the AA title against the Crimson Tide. The sophomore has been the MRGC Gymnast of the Week in four out of the eight possible weeks.

McGregor – who had only previously earned Uneven Bars and Gymnast of the Week honors – came up big in vault and was able to tally a 9.875 to lead the way for the Broncos and earn Vault Co-Specialist of the Week. The 9.875 was a season high for the freshman from Christchurch, New Zealand.
