Remme, Bir, Stockwell Highlight Gymnastics Weekly Honors

BOISE, Idaho -- For the fifth-straight week junior Shani Remme was named MRGC Gymnast of the Week, while also collecting MRGC Floor Specialist of the Week. She was joined in the weekly honors with redshirt senior Mary Frances Bir, who earned MRGC Vault Specialist of the Week honors for the third-straight week and Ann Stockwell, who earned MRGC Bars Specialist of the Week. 

Remme earned the Gymnast of the Week honors after winning the all-around at the Broncos' tri-meet at San Jose State with a score of 39.425. This was just .075 off her career-high all-around score. Remme was outstanding on floor exercise, scoring a 9.925, tying her career-high mark on the event en route to the meet title and Floor Specialist of the Week. She also scored a 9.825 on her vault, a 9.825 on bars and 9.850 on beam.

Bir earned Vault Specialist of the Week for the third-straight week as she scored an impressive 9.925 to win the event title at the tri-meet.

Stockwell tied for Bars Specialist with a score of 9.875 on the event, winning the meet title on bars vs. San Jose State and Iowa State.

The Broncos now sit at 15th nationally with an average score of 196.115 over five meets on the year.

The Broncos host Utah State in a MRGC clash on Friday, Feb. 16 at 7 p.m. MT in Taco Bell Arena. The meet is the annual Pink Meet. Fans that wear pink to support cancer awareness will get a half-price ticket at the door.
