Perkins Named MRGC Co-Specialist of the Week

CEDAR CITY, Utah - Boise State junior Ciera Perkins was selected as the Mountain Rim Gymnastics Championship Co-Specialist of the Week after winning two events Friday at the Chicago Style Invite. Perkins shares the award with Raquel Willman Hatch of BYU while Denver's Moriah Martin was named Gymnast of the Week.  

Boise State scored a season-high 196.325 in Chicago with wins over UIC, North Carolina and Bowling Green as Perkins captured individual titles on bars (9.875) and floor (9.900) and tallied a 9.875 on vault to finish second. She picked up her second MRGC Specialist of the Week honor. 

The MRGC is a gymnastics-specific alliance among five member schools: Brigham Young University, Boise State University, Denver University, Southern Utah University and Utah State University. The alliance is not a formally recognize conference by the NCAA, but is in the process of gaining said status for the 2014-15 season.
