Broncos Host Cal State Fullerton in Beauty and the Beast Competition

What's Happening:
The No. 15-ranked Boise State gymnastics team opens up their home season on Fri., Feb. 4 when they host No. 65 Cal State Fullerton in the annual Beauty and the Beast competition. The Bronco wrestlers will be hosting their final match of the season against Utah Valley University. Both the gymnastics competition and wrestling match are slated to begin at 7 p.m. (Mountain) in Taco Bell Arena.

Weekly Rankings:
Boise State enters the week ranked No. 15 in the country, while Cal State Fullerton is ranked No. 65. Boise State holds the higher ranking between the two schools on all four events. The Broncos rank as high as No. 13 on vault, No. 19 on bars, No. 22 on beam and No. 25 on floor. The Titans are ranked No. 60 on vault, No. 66 on bars, No. 38 on beam and No. 74 on floor in the national rankings.

All-Time Series:
The two teams will be meeting for the 49th time in school history with Boise State leading the series 30-18. The Broncos have an eight meeting win-streak and earned their most recent win over the Titans on Mar. 27, 2010 at the Western Athletic Conference Championships.

Record Watch:
This week Amy Glass moves up in the record books, entering the all-around single season wins list at Boise State tied for No. 9 (3 wins). She also moved up in the all-around career wins list, tying for No. 5 with Carla Chambers (2002-05) with eight wins. With two wins on vault this season, Glass improves her career vault wins total to six, good for a tie for No. 9 on the career vault wins chart at Boise State.

Boise State "Broncos":
Boise State drop one spot in the national rankings this week, now sitting at No. 15. They hold a 2-3 record and have a team season-best of 195.00. and an average of 194.658.

Three Broncos sit in the nation's top-100 ranked gymnasts in their respective events. Amy Glass leads the way with her No. 7 all-around (39.317 average) ranking. She also is tied for No. 4 in the nation on beam (9.850), tied for No. 18 on vault (9.825), tied for No. 25 on floor (9.842) and tied for No. 63 on bars (9.775). Hannah Redmon also sits in the No. 63 tie on bars (9.775), while also ranking No. 35 (tied) on vault (9.825). Brittany Potvin-Green rounds out the ranked Broncos, sitting in a tie for No. 22 on bars (9.825).

Cal State Fullerton "Titans":
Cal State Fullerton enters the week ranked No. 65 in the nation. They hold a 0-1 record, competing in only their second meet of the season in Boise on Friday. They hold a season high and average score of 186.125.

Only one Titan sits amongst the top-100 nationally ranked gymnasts. Alaina Baker is in a tie for No. 59 in the nation in the all-around, holding a season average of 38.70 in the event.
