Bronco Gymnasts Continue Road Trip

What’s Happening The Boise State University gymnastics team completes its four-meet road trip this week, with duals at Utah State (Feb. 1) and No. 22 Brigham Young (Feb. 3).

The Western Athletic Conference meet with the Aggies is scheduled for Thursday at 6:30 p.m., at the Dee Glen Smith Spectrum at Logan, Utah. The meet is available for viewing via Go to for information about

The meet with the Cougars is slated to begin Saturday at 12:00 p.m., at the Marriott Center at Provo, Utah.

Results from both meets will be posted at once they become available.

The Broncos The Broncos (1-5, 0-4 WAC) have improved their team score in every meet this season. At last week’s meet against the Hornets, the Broncos posted their highest single event score of the season with a 48.925 on vault.

Freshman all-arounder DeAvera Todd posted the Broncos’ highest individual score of the season last week on vault with a 9.950. The mark also currently stands as the top score in the conference, and earned Todd WAC Specialist of the Week honors, Jan. 29.

The Aggies This week’s dual will be a rematch for the Broncos, as they and the Aggies (4-3, 2-1 WAC) squared off last week at the San Jose State quad meet, Jan. 26. Utah State was led by all-around champion Jessica Parenti-Otte to a sweep of the quad meet, with a season-high team score of 194.225 to top San Jose State, Boise State and Seattle Pacific.

The Cougars The meet with Brigham Young, ranked No. 22 by GymInfo, will be another rematch for the Broncos. The Cougars of BYU handed the Broncos a loss (192.300-190.575), Jan. 19, and then hosted Utah State, Jan. 22, posting a season-best 195.475 and season-high scores on all four events. The Cougars won the meet 195.475-193.800 over Utah State.

Last Time Out Boise State is coming off a road trip that saw a third place finish at San Jose State, Jan. 26, and a second place effort at Sacramento State, Jan 28.
