Hedberg Leads the Broncos in Hawaii

Honolulu, Hawaii Mandi Hedberg continued her stellar performance for the Boise State University women’s golf at the Kent Youel Invitational, hosted by Hawaii, Tuesday, when she fired a 9-over par, 153 to take a share of 14th place.

 

In her first two tournaments with the varsity squad this season, Hedberg has registered two top 25 finishes and led the Broncos in scoring average during that time (75.7). She collected 17th and 13th place finishes at the Bronco Invitational and Price’s “Give’ Em Five” Invite, respectively.

 

Sitting just three strokes back of Hedberg is freshman Iris Ocariza whose is tied for 30th place. After recording a 77 (+5) in the opening round Ocariza followed it up with a 79 (+7) to garner a 12-over par, 156 on the first day of competition.

 

As a team the Broncos have sole possession of 11th place in the 16-team field, but remain just five strokes behind ninth place teams New Mexico State and Oklahoma.

 

Rounding out the scoring for Boise State was Katie Street who is tied for 46th place with a 160 (+16), Lindsey Shean’s tied for 67th with the score of 164 (+24) and Lindsey Huebert in 72 nd place (166, +22).

 

The final day of competition for the Kent Youel Classic will be held Oct. 25, beginning at 7:30 a.m. with a shotgun start.
