Broncos Compete in Fourth Tournament of Fall

What’s Happening The Boise State University women’s golf team travels to Las Cruces, N.M., to compete in the Prices “Give Em Five Fund”/New Mexico State Invitational, hosted by New Mexico State University, Oct. 16-18. 


The three day tournament will feature 18-holes per day and will be held at the par-72, 6,319-yard New Mexico State Golf Course. Play Monday and Tuesday will tee off at 8:30 a.m. and Wednesday at 8:00 a.m.


The Teams In addition to Boise State the 17-team tournament will feature Western Athletic Conference opponents Hawaii, Idaho, Nevada, New Mexico State and San Jose State.  The rest of the field includes Baylor, Colorado, Colorado State, Gonzaga, Indiana, Kansas, Kansas State, Missouri, Oklahoma, U.C. Davis, UTEP.


The Players The five members of the Boise State women’s golf team competing in the tournament will be seniors Katie Street and  Lindsey Huebert, sophomores Lindsey Shean and Mandi Hedberg as well as freshman Iris Ocariza.


Ocariza leads the Broncos in top 25 finishes this season. She posted a 14th place finish at the Heather Far Classic and followed it up with an 11th place finish at the Bronco Fall Invitational.


Street posted the highest finish for a Boise State individual during this young season when she registered a 226 (+10) at the Heather Farr Classic which placed her 7th at the tournament.


The other Broncos to record a top 25 finish this season are Mandi Hedberg who tied for 17th at the Bronco Fall Invitational and Lindsey Shean who finished 20th at the same tournament. 


Last Time Out At the Bronco Fall Invitational the Boise State women’s golf team fired a 909 (+57) to take home third place, their highest finish as a team this season.
