► What’s Happening
Boise State University’s women’s golf team is headed off to the  Price’s “Give ‘Em Five” Intercollegiate in Las Cruces, New Mexico. This tournament is being hosted by Western Athletic Conference member New Mexico State University at the school owned golf course. The Give ‘Em Five Intercollegiate is the third of four events this fall for the Broncos.

► Recently for the Broncos
The last time the Broncos competed was two weeks ago in the Giustina Memorial Classic in Corvallis, Ore., Sept. 28-29, where they placed eight out of 10 teams with a 953 (+89). Iris Ocariza led Boise State in Oregon with a 21-over 237 to finish tied for 22nd. Prior to that the Broncos opened the season at the Washington State University Inland Cup, Sept. 21-23, in Pullman, Wash., where they placed 10th out of 13 teams carding a 970 (+106).

► The Tournament Format
The format for this tournament calls for three rounds played over three days, each round will begin with a shotgun start. The first 18 holes will be played on Monday, Oct. 12 at 8:30 a.m. (Mountain). The second round will be Tuesday also starting at 8:30 a.m. Meanwhile, the final session is on Wednesday but will start a half-hour earlier at 8:00 a.m.

► The Tournament Course
The Price’s “Give ‘Em Five” Intercollegiate is being held at the New exico State University Golf Course.  For the purpose of this competition the course will feature a par-72 that spans 6,193 yards. 

► The Field
The Price’s “Give ‘Em Five” Intercollegiate features a strong field with three teams ranked in the top-50 by Golfweek magazine in Arizona at #20, UC Irvine at #35 and Baylor at #42. The field includes 18 NCAA Division I institutions representing the Western Athletic Conference, Pacific-10 Conference, Big 12 Conference, Southeastern Conference, Big Sky Conference, Big West Conference, Mountain West Conference, Conference USA and the Sun Belt Conference. In addition to the three ranked teams the competition includes: WAC schools New Mexico State (the host), Boise State, Fresno State, Idaho, Nevada, as well as, Mississippi State, Kansas, Kansas State, Oregon State, Colorado State, North Texas, San Diego State, UTEP, Northern Arizona and Portland State. Over 90 participants will compete for the team and individual titles.

► Boise State’s Women’s Tournament Roster
The Bronco lineup for this week includes both seniors, two sophomores and one freshman. Opening the competition at the number one position is Lori Harper the freshman from Manhatten Beach, Calif., averaging 81.8 shots per round during the first two events this year. She is followed by sophomore Michelle Gooding (Wilder, Idaho) at the second position averaging 79.7 strokes per round this year; senior Iris Ocariza (Honolulu, Hawaii) averaging 79.5 shots per round; senior Minhee Park (Tieton, Wash.) averaging 85.3 strokes per round; and rounding out the roster is sophomore Maria Santisteban (Tampico, Meixco) playing in her first event of the year after averaging 84.5 strokes per round in three tournaments last year.
