Boise State Finishes Fourth in 2007 Bronco Fall Invitational

BOISE, Idaho High winds in the final round of the 2007 Bronco Fall Invitational did not deter the Boise State University women’s golf team from moving up the leader board and capturing fourth place with a 989 (+125).

 

The Broncos had three golfers finish in the top 25 and four finished in the top 27 in the 78-golfer field.

 

Nikki Olson’s 80 (+8) was tied for the fourth best score of the third round and propelled her into a tie for seventh place with a 241 (+25). This was the second top 25 finish of the season for Olson who also finished tied for seventh at the Giustina Memorial Classic.

 

Lindsey Shean remained consistent throughout the tournament posting an 83 (+11) in the first round, an 81 (+9) in the second and an 83 (+11) in the third to finish tied for 18th with a 247 (+31). This is the second top 25 finish of the season for Shean.

 

Mandi Hedberg also collected her second top 25 finish of the season as she recorded a 249 (+33) to finish tied for 21st place.

 

Iris Ocariza finished tied for 27th place with a 252 (+36) and Minhee Park finished tied for 54 with a 266 (+50) to round out the scoring for Boise State.

 

Nebraska won the tournament with an 82-over 946. Kansas State’s Michelle Regan and Nebraska’s Allison Stewart split the singles titles at 233 (+17).

 

High winds and morning frost proved a challenge for all teams during both rounds of the tournament, dramatically driving up the scores.
