Young tied for 12th after two rounds...

AURORA, Ore. (9/27/2010) - Hayley Young carded a 6-over-par 150 to lead Boise State after two rounds at the Rose City Collegiate in Aurora, Ore., Monday afternoon. The sophomore from Honolulu, Hawaii, continued her solid early season form today recording two rounds of 3-over 75 to find herself tied for 12th out of 78 players, seven strokes out of first heading into tomorrow’s final round.  The Broncos finished the first day of the tournament with a team score of 626 good for 11th place out of 15 teams.    

Oregon State University and the University of North Texas are tied for first after today’s two rounds at Langdon Farms Golf Club firing team scores of 22-over 598. Right behind those two are Portland State University and the University of Hawai’i who shot 23-over 599 and 26-over 602, respectively.

The Broncos will enter tomorrow’s final round 28 strokes out of first place after tallying a two-round score of 50-over 626 today. Boise State recorded a 311 (+23) during the first round, then slipped a bit in the second session with a 315 (+27).    

Individually, Hayley Young continues her steady play this fall firing two rounds of 75 (+3) today to finish Monday in a four-way tie for 12th place at 6-over 150. She will start the final round seven strokes back of Whitney French from Oregon State who sits in first place with a 1-under 143.

Following Young for Boise State after day one of the Rose City Collegiate is true-freshman Jenna Leurquin who carded a 11-over 155 (77-78) today to find herself in a six-way tie for 28th.

Michelle Gooding recorded the third-best score for the Broncos with a 14-over 158 (79-79) good for a seven-way tie for 41st. Rounding out the scoring for Boise State were Lori Harper with a 20-over 164 (80-84) and Katie Somers at 21-over 165 (82-83).

Boise State will try to move up the team leader board tomorrow morning when the Broncos complete the third round starting with tee times at 9:00 a.m. (Mountain) in Aurora, Ore.
