Young, Harper Finish in Top 25 at Circling Raven
WORLEY, Idaho – Boise State women’s golf juniors Hayley Young and Lori Harper posted top-25 finishes at the Circling Raven Collegiate Invitational Tuesday, the first tournament of the 2011-12 season.

Young finished tied for 18th in the 116-player field. Her three-round total of 232 (76-75-81, +16) at the par-72, 6,111-yard Circling Raven Golf Course was just three strokes back of the top 10. The tournament effort marks her eighth-career top-25 finish, and her third-straight dating back to the final two tournaments of last season.

Harper posted a three-round total of 233 (75-80-78, +17), finishing in a tie for 24th – her second-career top-25 effort.

“Hayley and Lori both had solid starts,” Boise State head coach Nicole Harris Bird said. “As for the team finish, we have some things to work on before our next event. We'll make some improvements by Friday's match, and then we'll work really hard before Portland State. Our goal is to get better each tournament.”

The Broncos finished tied for 17th as a team with a 953 (315-319-319, +89), 15 strokes back of the top 10.

Rounding out the Bronco contingent were senior Katie Somers (77-82-80—239, +23), senior Maria Santisteban (87-83-80—250, +34) and redshirt junior Michelle Gooding (88-82-91—261, +45).

The Broncos continue their 2011-12 season in a duel against the College of Idaho, Friday. The event is scheduled to be played at the River Bend Golf Course in Wilder, Idaho.
