Women's Golf Announces 2016-17 Slate

2016-17 Schedule

The 2016-17 schedule for the Boise State women's golf team will feature four fall tournaments and five spring tournaments before the postseason begins with the Mountain West Championships on April 17-19 in Rancho Mirage, Calif., at the Dinah Shore Course at Mission Hills Country Club.

Entering her 10th season at the helm of the program, head coach Nicole Bird and the Broncos will start the year at the Ptarmigan Ram Classic from Sept. 12-13 in Fort Collins, Colo., at Ptarmigan CC. Last season the Blue and Orange performed well at the Ptarmigan, finishing in fifth place in the 17-team field after going 292-298-302 (892).

The second tournament of the fall season will find the Broncos competing at the Rose City Collegiate on Sept. 26-27 in Aurora, Ore., at Langdon Farms GC. Senior Genevieve Ling had the top score for any returner at last year's Rose City Collegiate, firing a 15-over 231 (76-77-78).

The New Mexico State Invitational will be next on Oct. 3-5 at the New Mexico State GC in Las Cruces, N.M. Boise State was exceptionally consistent last year in Las Cruces, firing three sub-300 rounds of 298-297-297 for an 892.

The fall season will come to a close at the Lady Mustang Invitational in San Luis Obispo, Calif., at Cypress Ridge GC on Oct. 22-23, hosted by Cal Poly.

The spring season will start in the Lone Star State at the Texas State Invitational at the Bandit GC in New Braunfels, Texas on Feb. 13-14.

The Broncos will then return to California and compete in The Gold Rush Tournament hosted by Long Beach State at Old Ranch CC in Seal Beach, Calif., from Feb. 27-28. Ling earned a top-20 finish at last year's edition of The Gold Rush, carding an 8-over 224 (75-76-73).

The Red Rocks Invitational will follow, hosted by Northern Arizona at Oakcreek CC in Sedona, Ariz., from March 4-5.

Boise State will stay in the Southwest the following tournament, traveling to the Entrada Classic at the Snow Canyon Country Club in St. George, Utah on March 13-14. Recently graduated senior Samantha Martin won the 2015 edition, firing a 2-under 214 (73-71-70).

The regular season finale will feature the Cowgirl Classic at Southern Dunes GC in Maricopa, Ariz., hosted by Wyoming on April 6-7.

The beginning of the postseason will bring the Mountain West Championships at the Dinah Shore Course in Rancho Mirage, Calif., from April 17-19. The Broncos finished eighth in the team standings at last year's league championships (926; 312-313-301).

Boise State will then wait and see if they receive a bid for the NCAA Regional Championship which is scheduled for May 8-10 at a location yet to be determined. The NCAA National Championships are slated for May 19-24 at Rich Harvest Farms in Sugar Grove, Ill.
