Harper, Leurquin Lead Broncos at Cowgirl Classic

CHANDLER, Ariz. – Boise State women’s golfers Lori Harper and Jenna Leurquin led the Broncos in their final regular-season tournament Wednesday, each finishing the Cowgirl Classic tied for 44th at 230 (+14).

Leurquin posted the Broncos’ lowest final-round score, carding a 2-over-par 74. The sophomore climbed 24 spots up the leaderboard on the final day with her lowest round of the three-day event.

Harper, a junior, recorded rounds of 75 (+3), 76 (+4) and 79 (+7) at the par-72, 6,184-yard Ocotillo Golf Resort.

Redshirt junior Michelle Gooding saved her lowest score of the tournament for the final day, posting a 76 (+4) en route to a three-round total of 233 (+17).

The Broncos finished in 15th in the 24-team field with a score of 924 (+60), seven strokes ahead of tournament host and Mountain West foe Wyoming.

Rounding out the scoring for the Broncos were juniors Hayley Young (232; +16) and Jennifer Henningsson (250; +34).

Boise State will now prepare for the Mountain West Championships, held April 20-22, at the Wigwam Resort in Phoenix, Ariz.
