Cowgirl Classic Awaits Broncos in Arizona

BOISE, Idaho - The Boise State women's golf team travels to Maricopa, Ariz., for the Cowgirl Classic April 6-7 (Monday-Tuesday), the team's final regular-season tournament of the season.

Following the Cowgirl Classic the Broncos will compete in the Mountain West Championships, April 20-22, in Palm Springs, Calif.

The Cowgirl Classic will consist of three rounds, two on Monday and one on Tuesday. The tournament, hosted by Wyoming, will be played at the par-72, 6,186-yard Ak-Chin Southern Dunes Golf Club. Each day is scheduled to begin with a shotgun start at 7:45 a.m. MT, and live scoring is available at

Joining the Broncos and Cowgirls in the 22-team field will be BYU, Eastern Washington, Idaho, Lamar, Montana, Montana State, Nevada, New Mexico State, Northern Arizona, Northern Colorado, Portland State, Sacramento State, San Francisco, Santa Clara, Seattle, Southern Utah, Utah Valley, UTEP, Washington State and Weber State.

Boise State won the Cowgirl Classic two years ago and finished tied for third last season. Broncos have captured at least a share of medalist honors in each of the last two seasons at the event, as Martin tied for first place last season and then-senior Hayley Young finished seven strokes clear of her nearest competitor in 2013.
