► What’s Happening
The Boise State University women’s golf team will take part in the fifth-annual Cowgirl Classic in Chandler, Ariz., this Monday and Tuesday, April 4th and 5th. The tournament is being hosted by future Mountain West Conference opponent the University of Wyoming. This will be the final competition for the Broncos before next week’s Western Athletic Conference championship in Mesa, Ariz.

► Tournament Information

Fans will be able to follow the Broncos throughout the competition as live stats will be available for the Cowgirl Classic at www.golfstat.com. This tournament will feature the typical five-person squads with the top-four scores per round counting towards the team tally. The competition format for this event calls for three rounds of stroke play staged over two days. The teams will play 36-continuous holes on Monday followed by the final 18 on Tuesday. Both days will begin by shotgun start at 8:30 p.m. (Mountain).

► The Cowgirl Classic Field

This will be the largest field in which the Broncos have been apart of this year with 23 NCAA Division I teams competing. Joining Boise State as WAC representatives will be New Mexico State University. The remaining 21 teams include: the host Wyoming Cowgirls, BYU, Cal Poly, Eastern Washington, Idaho State, Louisiana-Monroe, Montana, Montana State, Northern Arizona, Northern Colorado, Portland State, Sacramento State, Santa Clara, Seattle, South Dakota State, Southern Utah, UC Riverside, Utah Valley, UTEP, Weber State and Xavier. Overall their will be a total of 122 student-athletes competing for the team and individual titles.

► The Host Course
The picturesque Ocotillo Golf Resort in Chandler, Ariz., will serve as the host course for this event. The tournament will be staged as a par-72 played over a 6,184-yard course.

► What’s Happened Recently
Boise State has split a pair of dual matches in its last two competitions defeating Idaho State 333 to 383 in Eagle, Idaho, on March 20, before falling to New Mexico State this past Saturday, April 2, 299 to 321 in Mesa, Ariz.

► Boise State’s Cowgirl Classic Roster
The Broncos roster will feature the same five golfers that competed Saturday against the New Mexico State Aggies. Boise State will be led by Hayley Young, Michelle Gooding, Jenna Leurquin, Katie Somers and Lori Harper.
