Ocariza six strokes out of first place.

TUCSON, Ariz. (3/26/2010) - The Boise State University women’s golf team had a slow start at the Mountain View Collegiate Invitational in Tucson, Ariz., as the Broncos shot a 638 (+62) on the first day. Boise State fired a 317 (+29) during the morning session then followed with a 321 (+33) in the second round to finish the day in 18th place. Texas Tech takes a one stroke lead into tomorrow’s final round recording a 19-over 595 today.

On the individual side, Iris Ocariza led the Broncos with an 8-over 152 (77-75) and is tied for 30th. She is six strokes back of a group of four who are tied for the lead at 2-over 146.

Freshman Hayley Young carded the second-best score of the day for Boise State with a 12-over 156 (75-81) and will start tomorrow’s final 18 tied for 60th. She is followed by freshman Lori Harper who shot 17-over 161 (79-82), senior Minhee Park who tallied 25-over 169 (86-83), with sophomore Katie Somers rounding out the day for the Broncos at 26-over 170 (86-84).  

The final round will begin by shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. (Mountain) at the Mountain View Golf Club in Tucson.
