Street Finishes Tied For Fourth at Duck Invitational; Broncos Finish Seventh

JUNCTION CITY, Ore. Senior Katie Street finished in a tie for fourth place with a 230 (+14) as the Boise State University women’s golf team finished in seventh place (958, +94) at the Duck Invitational at the Shadow Hills Country Club.

 

Street’s fourth place finish is the highest finish for a Boise State individual this season and the best finish for Street since she tied for third in the 2005 Bronco Fall Invitational.

 

Street, the returning All-Western Athletic Conference performer, began the tournament by firing a team-best 72 (E). She would go on to shoot a 78 (+6) in the second round and close out with a 80 (+8) in the final round to finish tied for fourth in the 54-hole event.

 

Iris Ocariza also recorded a top 25 finish, her fourth of the year, as she posted a 22-over par, 238, to tie for 23rd place.

 

Led by strong individual performances, Boise State matched its best finish of the spring season which was also seventh at the Baja Women’s Golf Classic. The Broncos’ final score of 958, was 10 strokes below the fields’ average of 968 (+104).

 

Mandi Hedberg continues to play well for Boise State as she registered a 244 (+28) to tie for 36th place.

 

Other Boise State golfers included Nikki Olson tied for 49th place (250, +34) and Lindsey Shean tied for 57th place at 252 (+36).

 

The Broncos will now prepare to compete in the BYU Dixie Classic Apr. 3-4, at St. George, Utah.
