The Desert Awaits the Boise State Women's Golf Team

What’s Happening The Boise State University women’s golf team will travel to Boulder City, Nev., to compete in the 54-hole UNLV Spring Invite, Mar. 12-14, at the par-72, 6,153 yard Boulder Creek Golf Club.


The Teams The tournament field will feature 18 teams including Boise State, BYU, Campbell, Eastern Washington, Indiana, Iowa, Long Beach State, Nebraska, New Mexico, Notre Dame, San Diego State, San Francisco, Texas Tech, Washington State and ULNV. The tournament Western Athletic Conference rivals Fresno State, Idaho and New Mexico in preparation for the WAC Championships Apr. 23-25.


The Players - The Boise State women’s golf team will feature Katie Street, Iris Ocariza, Lindsey Huebert, Nikki Olson and Mandi Hedberg at the UNLV Spring Invite.


Street enters the tournament second in top 25 finishes for a career with 19. She posted a personal-best scoring average in fall play with a 76.5. She also ranks sixth on the Broncos all-time list for career top 10 finishes. At the Baja Classic Street finished tied for 27th with a 156 (+12)


Hedberg hails from Twin Falls, Idaho, and registered a 76.6 scoring average in the fall. She recorded two top 20 finishes in three fall tournaments. Hedberg tied for seventh at the Baja Classic with a 152 (+8) and tied for 28th at the Kitahara Fresno State Invitational. Hedberg has stepped her game up from the fall giving the Broncos another consistent presence atop the lineup.


Ocariza tied the school record with a 69 (-3) in the first round of the Baja Classic and finished tied for seventh. Ocariza posted two top 25 finishes in five fall tournaments including leading Boise State at the Bronco Invitational with a 226 (+13) to tie for 11th. She ranks sixth on the Broncos all-time list for the season scoring average with a 77.6.


Huebert, is one of two seniors on the team. She posted a 78.5 stroke average in five fall tournaments and a career-best 72 (E) at the Salbasgeon Suites Invitational.


Olson played in two fall tournaments registering 79.8 strokes per round average while posting a career-low 76 (+5) at the Bronco Fall Invite.
