Boise State Defeats Idaho State in Women's Golf Dual Match...

EAGLE, Idaho (3/5/2010) - The Boise State University women’s golf team defeated instate-rival Idaho State University in a dual match by the score of 310 (+26) to 347 (+63) at BanBury Golf Club in Eagle, Idaho, Friday afternoon. Each team competed with eight players with five predesignated to count towards the team score, of which the highest score was thrown out. Meanwhile, the other three players participated as individuals. The Broncos swept the top-five places with freshman Hayley Young leading the pack with a team-best 3-over-par 74. It was the second-lowest single round score of the year for the native of Honolulu, Hawaii.

For Boise State’s team score, senior Iris Ocariza followed Young with a 4-over 75 to take second overall. The other three Broncos who were predesignated for the team score were senior Minhee Park who carded a 7-over 78 to tie for fourth overall, freshman Maria Santisteban tallied a 12-over 83 with sophomore Katie Somers rounding out the five with a 92 (+21).

Boise State’s other three were freshman Jennifer Henningsson who turned in her top collegiate round of her career with a 6-over 77 to place third. Lori Harper tied Park for fourth with a 7-over 78, followed by freshman Emma Dahlqvist who shot a 91 (+20).

Idaho State was led by Kylie Smith who shot a 11-over 82 to place sixth overall. Katrina Phillips recorded the second-lowest round for ISU with a 16-over 87.
