Broncos Travel to Red Rocks Invite

Boise State will return to warmer weather this weekend when they travel to Sedona, Ariz., to compete in the Red Rocks Invitational from March 4-5. The tournament will be the second of the week for the Broncos as they recently took 12th at the Gold Rush in Seal Beach, Calif., at Old Ranch Country Club.

There will be no live scoring provided this weekend.

WHEN: The first round will begin Saturday morning at 8:30 a.m. (MT) in a shotgun start, and the second round will follow upon the conclusion of the first. The third and final round is also slated for 8:30 a.m. on Sunday morning.

THE COURSE: Oakcreek Country Club | Par 72

The weekend’s forecast calls for highs of 62 and 59 on Saturday and Sunday, respectively, with relatively clear skies.

LAST TIME OUT: Genevieve Ling tied for 15th place at the Gold Rush in Seal Beach, Calif., at the Old Ranch Country Club earlier this week on Tuesday, finishing the tournament at 7-over (77-74-72 = 223). Ling improved with each round and scattered three bogeys, three birdies and 12 pars over the course of her final round to finish the tournament with an even-par 72. The 15th-place performance is her second-consecutive top-25 finish and the 21st of her Bronco career.

Boise State (309-312-312 = 933) took 12th place in the team standings. Dana Clary (77-74-80 = 231) and Valentine Lacaze (77-84-79 = 240) were both able to put together two solid rounds, as Clary tied for 39th and Lacaze tied for 71st.

LING HEATING UP IN SPRING SEASON: Ling has fired six-consecutive rounds in the 70s to start off the spring season including two 72s – one at the Texas State Invitational and one at the Gold Rush. She was 12th in Texas and tied for 15th in Southern California, leading the Broncos both weekends.
