Broncos in Ninth; Hedberg in 12th After First Round of Kitahara Invite

BOISE, Idaho The Boise State women’s golf team is tied for ninth place with an 18-over, 306, through the first round of the 16-team Kitahara Fresno State Invitational.

 

Sophomore Mandi Hedberg paced the Broncos with a 74 (+2) to stand tied for 12th place through round one. Hedberg recorded three birdies and one bogey on the front-nine of par 72, 6,004-yard Copper River Country Club to earn her place. Her 74 (+2) is one stroke off her season-low round of 73 (+1).

 

Iris Ocariza and Nikki Olson are tied for 28th place after posting a 4-over, 76, to begin the tournament.

Ocariza posted two birdies on the front-nine while Olson recorded two on the back-nine as both players earned qualifying scores for Boise State.

 

Lindsey Shean registered an 80 (+8) to stand tied for 58th place. Amanda Nave is in 84th place with 13-over, 85, to round out the scoring for Boise State.

 

The final round of the Kitahara Fresno State Invitational will begin Feb. 26, at 9:00 a.m. (MT). Live scoring will be provided at golfstat.com.
