Women's Golf Set to Participate in Fresno State Invitational

What’s Happening The Boise State University women’s golf team is set to travel to Fresno, Calif., to compete in the 18-hole, par 72, Kitahara Fresno State Invitational at the Copper River Country Club, Feb. 26-27.


The tournament will begin Monday, Feb. 26, at 9:30 a.m. and will conclude Tuesday, Feb. 27.


The Teams The field at the tournament will feature 18 teams including Boise State, UC Irvine, Colorado, Eastern Washington, Hawaii, Long Beach State, Nevada, New Mexico State, Oregon State, Oregon, Sacramento State, San Diego State, UC Davis, Kansas State, Santa Clara as well as two teams from Fresno State.


The Players - The Boise State women’s golf team will feature Katie Street, Iris Ocariza, Lindsey Shean, Jana Mosesson and Mandi Hedberg.


Street enters the tournament second in top 25 finishes for a career with 19. She posted a personal-best scoring average in fall play with a 76.5. She also ranks sixth on the Broncos all-time list for career top 10 finishes. At the Baja Classic Street finished tied for 27th with a 156(+12)


Hedberg hails from Twin Falls, Idaho, and registered a 76.6 scoring average in the fall. She recorded two top 20 finishes in three fall tournaments. Hedberg tied for seventh at the Baja Classic with a 152(+8).


Shean played in four of five fall tournaments and posted a 79.0 scoring average. She also posted a top 25 score at the Bronco Invite.


Mosesson is set to participate in her first tournament of the spring after playing in three fall tournaments.


Ocariza tied the school record with a 69(-3) in the first round of the Baja Classic and finished tied for seventh. Ocariza posted two top 25 finishes in five fall tournaments including leading Boise State at the Bronco Invitational with a 226 (+13) to tie for 11th. She ranks sixth on the Broncos all-time list for the season scoring average with a 77.6.
