Oct. 6, 2015

LAS CRUCES, NM- The Boise State women's golf team surged up the leaderboard of the NM State Aggie Invitational to fifth place of the 14 team field.

The Broncos have a team score of 595 (298-297, +19) on the par-72 6,196 yard NM State Golf Course.

"Honestly not much was different," Boise State head coach Nicole Bird said. "The good news is that we know that everyone in our lineup can go low so they can all count on one another. Hopefully it's a case of several of them doing it all at the same time tomorrow."

Senior McKenzie Ford shot a 71 in the second round to move up eight spots into a tie for 10th with New Mexico State's Kristen Kline.

Ford has a score of 145 (74-71, +1) heading into Wednesday's third and final round of the tournament.

Junior Genevieve Ling is tied for 15th with a 148 (71-78, +5).

Seniors Samantha Martin (77-75-- 152 +8) and Sammie Pless (76-78--154, +10) and junior Dana Clary (78-74--152, +8) round out the scoring for the Broncos.

Boise State is one of four teams with their entire lineup in the top 50 of the leaderboard.

The third round begins Wednesday with an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start. Live scoring will be provided by golfstat.com.
