LAS CRUCES, N.M. - The Boise State women's golf team boasts a pair of individuals in the top 15 following the opening round of the Price's "Give `Em Five" Invitational, Monday.

Sophomore Genevieve Ling and junior Samantha Martin each carded rounds of 1-over 73 at the 6,271-yard University Golf Course, and will enter the second round tied for 13th. Each recorded a pair of birdies and three bogeys in the opening round, and each is just a stroke back of the top 10.

The duo has Boise State (297, +9) in eighth place, within seven strokes of second-place Washington State, and within six strokes of a third-place tie between tournament-host New Mexico State and BYU. Idaho shot 4-under (284) in the first round, and holds a six-stroke advantage.

Junior McKenzie Ford shot 75 (+3), and is two strokes back of the top 25. Sammie Pless carded a 76 (+4) and sophomore Dana Clary rounded out the scoring with a 77 (+5).

Tuesday's second round is scheduled to begin with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. (MT), and live scoring is available at Golfstat.com.
