Ling, Ford in Top 25 at Aggie Invitational

LAS CRUCES, NM- Following the opening round of action at the NM State Aggie Invitational, Boise State golfers Genevieve Ling and McKenzie Ford find themselves in the top 25 of the field.

Ling, a junior from Malaysia, is tied for fourth after shooting a 71 on the par 72 6,196 yard NM State Golf Course.

Ford, a senior from McKinleyville, Calif. is tied for 18th with a score of 74.

“Everyone was striking the ball well today,” Boise State head coach Nicole Bird. “I saw a lot of great par saves which were key. Tomorrow we need to make more birdies because they are definitely out there.”

Boise State sits in sixth of the team standings with a team score of 298, +10.

Junior Dana Clary (78, +6) and seniors Samantha Martin (77, +5) and Sammie Pless (76, +4) round out the scoring for the Broncos.

The second round will begin Tuesday at 8:30 a.m. with a shotgun start. Live scoring will be provided by golfstat.com.
