AURORA, Ore.- Following the opening two rounds of the Rose City Collegiate, Boise State senior women's golfer Samantha Martin sits just one stroke back of the top 15.

Martin used a big second round score of 72 to jump 11 spots up the leaderboard. The Los Angeles native ended the opening day with a score of 148 (76-72, +4) on the par-72 6,057 yard Langdon Farms Golf Club.

Martin is tied for second in the tournament field on par-3 holes at one under par.

"Sam just had a few bad holes at the beginning of her first nine," head coach Nicole Bird said. "After that she calmed down and just played her normal game. She just made better decisions overall."

The Broncos are seventh in the 15 team field with a combined score of 605 (306-299, +29).

Seniors McKenzie Ford (78-75, +9) and Sammie Pless (76-77, +9), and sophomore Genevieve Ling        (76-77, +9) are tied for 31st with a two round score of 153.

Junior Oceane Pelloille is tied for 58th with a score of 158 (83-75, +14).

Freshman Kinsley Bonfilio, competing as an individual, is tied for 77th by way of her score of 167 (86-81, +23).

"I'm not thinking about our position," Bird said. "I'm thinking we need to be more aggressive and make more birdies to shoot a score I know we are capable of on this golf course."

The third and final round of the Rose City Collegiate will begin Tuesday morning with an 8 a.m. shotgun off of holes one and 10. Live scoring can be found here.
