AURORA, Ore. –
The Boise State women’s golf team gradually improved throughout the day at the Rose City Collegiate in Aurora, Ore., at Langdon Farms Golf Club on Monday, finishing day one tied for 11th place. The Broncos opened with a 310 in the first round and followed it with a 305 in the second.

“I’m glad we were able to see some improvement from our last event,” said Boise State head coach Nicole Bird. “We are close to putting some good rounds together. Dana played well today and was very steady. The course and the conditions were prime for scoring, hopefully we can take advantage of that tomorrow.”

Dana Clary was the model of consistency, logging back-to-back 75’s to lead the way for the Blue and Orange. Her two rounds were almost exactly identical, carding four bogeys and one birdie in each of her two rounds. The senior is currently tied for 24th place at 6-over.

Genevieve Ling ended the day just a stroke behind Clary at 7-over (T27th place). Ling carded a 1-under 35 on the back nine in round one, putting the finishing touches on a 4-over 76. She improved by a stroke in the second round, concluding with a 75.

Freshman Valentine Lacaze made her Bronco debut with a 78 in the first round followed by a 77 in the second. Lacaze is currently in the top 50, tied for 49th place.

Fellow first-year Jalayne Martinez ended the 36 holes at 16-over (160). Martinez fired an 82 in her first round, but managed to finish the day off strong with a 78.

Kinsley Bonifilio also struggled in the first round (83), but bounced back nicely with a 5-over 77 in the second to give the Broncos their fourth counting score of the afternoon round.

Sophomore Adara Pauluhn enjoyed a solid day competing as an individual, recording a 76 in the first round and a 78 in the second, making her tied for 44th place.  Oceane Pelloille (84-80) is currently 78th.

The Broncos will tee off tomorrow morning between 10:30 a.m. (MT) and 11:10 a.m. (MT) starting on the back nine.
