Ling, Martin in Top 20 After First Round

RANCHO MIRAGE, Calif.- Two members of the Boise State women’s golf team sit in the top 20 following the opening round of play at the 2016 Mountain West Women’s Golf Championships.

Junior Genevieve Ling shot 75 (+3) in the first round to enter Tuesday’s second round in a tie for 11th place.

Senior Samantha Martin is one stroke behind Ling (76, +4) to finish the first round in a tie for 17th place.

Ling is tied for second in the field with 14 pars.

The Broncos are in eight place in the team standings with a combined score of 312 (+24) and sit two strokes behind Nevada.

Seniors Sammie Pless (79, +7) and McKenzie Ford (82, +10), and junior Oceane Pelloille (85, +13) round out the scoring for Boise State.

Boise State will tee off the second round at 8 a.m. MT against Wyoming and Nevada.
