RANCHO MIRAGE, Calif. –
Alejandra Lobelo used a dazzling second round to move up the leaderboard, while the Broncos weathered early mistakes on the second day of the Mountain West Championship, Tuesday at the Dinah Shores Championship Course at Mission Hills Country Club.

Lobelo fired off a 1-over 73 in the second round – the lowest individual round for any Bronco golfer thus far in the tournament – to move nine spots up the leaderboard into a tie for 15th. The freshman has a combined 149 (76-73, +5), and is tied for fourth in the field with 26 pars.

As a team, the Broncos dropped a spot into eighth in the team race with a combined 614 (303-311, +38).

Junior Kinsley Bonfilio weathered early mistakes to make three birdies on the back nine to hold steady on the second day of competition. Bonfilio is still in a tie for 24th through two rounds with a score of 154 (76-78, +10). Freshman Lexi Perry (76-79 – 155, +11) is a stroke back of Bonfilio in a tie for 28th.

Valentine Lacaze has a two-round score of 156 (75-81, +12), while Nicole Suppelsa has a score of 163 (82-81, +19) to round out Boise State’s lineup.

The Broncos will conclude the conference championship with Wednesday’s final round. Tee times will begin at 8 a.m.MT.
