MARICOPA, Ariz. - Boise State sophomore women's golfer Samantha Martin fired a final-round 1-under 71, earning a share of medalist honors at the Wyoming Cowgirl Classic, Tuesday.

Her three-round total of 1-under 215 is the second-lowest in school history, and placed her in a three-way tie for first.

In addition to the sub-par final round, Martin also set the school record with a 4-under 68 in the second round of the tournament, Monday.

"I'm really proud of Sam," head coach Nicole Bird said. "To shoot a school record is awesome, but then to back it up with another amazing round under par is really amazing.

"The whole team played well. We were a lot more consistent this tournament, which is what we needed before the conference tournament. We made tons of birdies - which was our focus - and I think we learned a lot about what we're capable of. That's really what we needed to do before our next event."

Having already won earlier this season at the Winthrop Intercollegiate, Martin is the fourth individual in school history to win multiple tournaments in a career, and just the third to win multiple times in the same season.

"It was a great tournament for me, and shooting a round in the 60s was awesome," Martin said. "That's the first round in the 60s I've had in college. One of my goals was to stay in the present, and I did a really good job of not getting ahead of myself and taking things one shot at a time.

"Honestly, I can't believe how well I played. It was pretty incredible. The weather was pretty warm and I grinded throughout the rounds. Overall, I'm excited by my play this week, and it was definitely a memorable one for me."

Martin now has six top-10 finishes this season, setting Boise State's all-time single-season record. The finish also gives her seven career top-10 finishes, tied for third overall in school history. Her eight top-25 finishes in 2013-14 are tied for the most in school history.

Freshman Genevieve Ling tied for 10th place at the tournament with a three-round total of 225 (72-76-77, +9) at the par-72, 6,231-yard Ak-Chin Southern Dunes Golf Club. This marks her second top-10 finish of the season.

The Boise State women's golf team concluded the event tied for third place, posting a three-round total of 901 (302-296-303, +37).

Sammie Pless finished tied for 32nd in the 108-woman field after carding rounds of 73-83-74 (230, +14).

Rounding out the scoring for the Broncos were sophomore McKenzie Ford (81-74-82--237, +21) and freshman Oceane Pelloille (81-78-81--240, +24).

The Cowgirl Classic marks the last regular-season tournament for the Broncos. The team will travel to Palm Springs, Calif., April 24-26, for the Mountain West Championships held at the Mission Hills Country Club.
