Day One Results

MARICOPA, Ariz. – Boise State (305-308 = 613) finished the day at 37-over as a team at the Wyoming Cowgirl Classic at Southern Dunes Golf Course in Maricopa, Ariz., and will enter tomorrow morning’s final round tied for 11th place in the 18-team field. Dana Clary (76-74 = 150) finished the day at 6-over to lead the Blue Orange, putting her in a tie for 22nd individually.

The senior played well in the first round, but was tripped up by a pair of double bogeys which resulted in a 4-over 76. She cleaned it up in the second, however, and tallied a birdie on each side to card a 74.

The story of the first round was undoubtedly Kinsley Bonfilio as the sophomore posted the lowest round of her collegiate career with a 1-over 73. An even-par 36 thanks to two birdies on the front side propelled her to the best 18 of the day for any Bronco. She tallied a 79 in the second round, putting her in a tie for 32nd.

Genevieve Ling was solid throughout the day, recording a 76 in the first round and a 77 in the second. She is tied for 39th at 9-over.

Jalayne Martinez (80-78 = 158) contributed two counting scores and was buoyed by a 78 in the second 18 that featured an even-par 36 on the front nine.

Valentine Lacaze (89-87 = 176) is tied for 99th.

The third round will be played tomorrow morning with a shotgun start set for 8:45 a.m.
