Martin Leads Broncos at Lady Bison Classic
LAS VEGAS – Freshman Samantha Martin carded a 4-over 76 in the opening round of the Lady Bison Spring Classic Thursday at the Snow Mountain Course at Paiute, and will enter the final round tied for 12th.

Martin, who has finished in the top 25 in each of her last four events, will be looking for her first-career top-10 finish Friday. The freshman is just one stroke back of a tie for seventh place, and two strokes back of a tie for fourth.

Senior Hayley Young and freshman McKenzie Ford each posted opening rounds of 79 (+7), and will enter the final round tied for 28th, one stroke back of the top 25.

Though the Broncos are in seventh place after shooting 314 (+26) on the opening day, the team is just five strokes back of the top five and eight strokes back of the top three.

A top-five finish would be the team’s fourth this season, the most since also recording four in 2004-05.

Freshman Sammie Pless (80; +8) and senior Lori Harper (82; +10) rounded out the Bronco contingent.

The final round of the 36-hole tournament will be played Friday, and final results will be available at
