Young, Martin Remain in Top 10 at Folino Invite
INDUSTRY, Calif. – Senior Hayley Young and freshman Samantha Martin remained in the top 10 Tuesday, leading the Boise State women’s golf team after the second round of the Folino Invitational.

Young is tied for eighth place with a two-round total of 152 (74-78, +10), and Martin is one stroke back of her senior teammate, tied for 10th with a 153 (74-79, +11) at the par-71, 6,067-yard Babe Didrikson Zaharias Course at the Industry Hills Golf Club.

Portland State’s Aram Choi leads the event with a 5-over-par 147.

Martin, who has improved her tournament finish in each event she has competed in for the Broncos, will be looking for her first-career top-10 finish Tuesday, and a fourth consecutive in the top 25.

Young will be looking for a third top-10 effort this season, and a fifth top-25 finish in as many tournaments this season.

The Broncos fell back to sixth place following a second-round team score of 316 (+32), but Boise State’s two-round total of 623 (+55) is just three strokes back of the top three and six strokes clear of Mountain West foe Wyoming (629, +61).

Gonzaga led the field for the second-straight day, and enters the final round with a 608 (+39).

Freshman Sammie Pless is tied for 19th with a 36-hole total of 156 (78-78, +14). She enters Tuesday’s final round three strokes back of the top 10, looking for her second-career top-25 finish.

Freshman McKenzie Ford (81-81—162, +20) and senior Lori Harper (83-81—164, +22) rounded out the Bronco contingent.
