NEW BRAUNFELS, Texas – The Broncos competed in the Texas State Invitational and completed the last few holes of the second round and the entirety of the third round on Tuesday at The Bandit Golf Course. Boise State (320-314-319 = 953) finished in 15th place as a team, but Genevieve Ling (76-79-72 = 227) was able to use a late charge in the third round to post a 1-over 72 to tie for 12th place individually.

The senior was 3-over through 11 holes in her final round, but was able to birdie two of her last seven to secure her best round of the tournament. The top-25 finish is the 20th of her Bronco career.

Dana Clary (82-78-81 = 241) and Adara Pauluhn (79-79-83 = 241) both tied for 63rd place. Both closed well in the morning to put the finishing touches on solid second rounds.

Kinsley Bonfilio (83-81-83 = 247) tied for 75th and contributed the final counting score for the Broncos in the third round. Valentine Lacaze (86-78-85 = 249) excelled in the second round, but was unable to carry the momentum into the final round. The second 18 saw the freshman from Toulouse, France card a 1-over 36 on the back nine to boost her to a 78.

UT San Antonio won the team title with a 49-over 901 and Houston’s Leonie Harm (70-73-75 = 218) won the individual crown at 5-over par.

Boise State will return to competition two weeks from now and play in The Gold Rush at Old Ranch Country Club in Seal Beach, Calif., from Feb. 27-28.
