Athlete of the Week 11/23-29: Tasha Harris

BOISE, Idaho – Senior Tasha Harris led the Boise State women’s basketball team to a perfect 3-0 on the week and was named MVP of the UNLV Lady Rebel Round-Up to earn this week’s Bronco Athlete of the Week Honors. Harris exploded for 54 points this week, including a team-high 23 points in the championship game against Washington State.

Harris, a native of Longmont, Colo., moved up to third on Boise State’s all-time scoring list with 1,395 career points. Her 23 points against the Cougars helped the Broncos claim the title at the UNLV Lady Rebel Round-Up and was her high for the week. She also recorded 13 points against UNLV and a game-high 18 points at Utah Valley. Harris currently leads the team with 18.3 points per game and has led the Broncos to a perfect 7-0 start to the season, which is the team’s best start since the 1974-75 season.

The Broncos will face Oregon and Portland on the road this week in their attempt to stay perfect. The track and field team will open its season at the Jackson’s Open in Nampa, Idaho on Friday. The men’s basketball team will also be on the road to face Illinois on Saturday. The swimming and diving team will compete at the Missouri Invitational this weekend and the wrestling team will travel to the Cliff Keen Las Vegas Invitational on Friday. The football team will host New Mexico State on Saturday at 1 p.m. for senior day.
