Brady records career-high 30 points and 11 rebounds to lead Broncos.

LOGAN, Utah - A second half slump cost Boise State in Logan, Utah, as Utah State rallied for a 97-86 win over the Broncos on Wednesday night. Up 62-56 Boise State had things going their way, when the Aggies rolled off a 19-3 run midway through the final 20-minutes to seize momentum. Boise State was unable to recover from the defensive lapse as it fell to 3-2 on the year. Nicole Brady scored a career-high 30 points along with a team-high 11 rebounds to lead five Broncos in double figure scoring.  

In a half that went back and forth, Nicole Brady, Diana Lee and Kati Isham kept the Broncos in the game during the first 20 minutes combining for 31 of Boise State's 38 points. The trio hit seven 3-pointers in the period including three in the final three minutes to lead the Broncos back from an eight point, 30-22, deficit as Boise State took a 37-35 lead.

However, the Aggies regrouped to take a 39-38 advantage into the break. One aspect that Boise State struggled with in the half and ultimately the game was turnovers committing 11 in the first period which Utah State turned into a 17-10 advantage in points off turnovers.

Boise State opened the second period strong taking the lead with two quick field goals by Lauren Lenhardt and Diana Lee. The Broncos stretched the lead to six at 62-56 with 12:39 remaining when momentum turned against them. In the next seven possessions during a three-minute stretch, Boise State turned it over four times and hit one of three field goal attempts. Lenhardt hit a layup and an accompanying free throw for a three-point play.

Meanwhile, the Aggies responded by rolling off a 19-3 run to take a 74-65 advantage with 9:18 to play. Utah State hit eight consecutive shots with Brooke Jackson scoring 12 of the 19 points. Boise State fought back pulling to within four points on a Lenhardt layup at the 8:10 mark. But that was as close as the Broncos would get, unable to recover after that initial USU run. The Aggies took a game-high 14 point, 97-83, lead with 14 seconds left.

Both teams shot the ball well with Boise State finishing at 46.5 percent (33-71) from the floor, 30.3 percent (10-33) from 3-point range and 76.9 percent (10-13) from the free-throw line. Utah State shot a impressive 70.4 percent (19-27) from the floor in the second half to finish at 56.9 percent (33-58) in the game, as well as converting 56.3 percent (9-16) from the arc and 91.7 percent (22-24) from the charity stripe.

The Broncos dominated the boards 40 to 26 and 20 to six in offensive boards for a 19 to two advantage in second chance points. Unfortunately they gave up 28 points on turnovers to the Aggies.

Brady scored 19 second half points as she recorded her second double-double of the year with 30 points and 11 rebounds, her fourth game with double-figure rebounds. Lenhardt had 14 points in the final period to finish with 18 and five boards. Lee was third with 15 points to go with two rebounds and five assists, followed by Isham with 11 points and Heather Pilcher with 10 points, six boards and career-high six assists.

Brooke Jackson led five Utah State players in double-figure scoring with 27 points, team-high five rebounds and four assists. Jennifer Schlott was next with 17 points followed by Ashlee Brown with 14, Devyn Christensen with 12 and Maddy Plunkett who had 11.
