Three Broncos Score in Double-Figures in 84-64 Win Over Lewis-Clark State

BOISE, Idaho - The Boise State women’s basketball team held its first and only exhibition game of the season, beating Lewis-Clark State, 84-64, Sunday.

Three Broncos finished in double-figures after having a breakout performance in the second half as Jessica Van Hoogen finished with 15 points, followed by Julia Marshall with 12 and Rebecca Kepilino with 11.

During the first half of play, the Broncos were led by Jessica Van Hoogen with nine points, while teammate Tasha Harris added seven points and four rebounds to the Boise State first half total of 40 points.

Opening the second half, Boise State went on a 19-2 run as freshman Julia Marshall added nine and Van Hoogen tallied six points each in the first five minutes of the half. Also having s second-half surge was Kepilino, who after only registering two points in the first half, tallied nine in the latter half of the game.

Despite winning the game, as a team Lewis-Clark outrebounded Boise State 39-40, while shooting 47.1 percent from the floor.

The Broncos open the regular season at home, Friday, Nov. 13 against Western Oregon at 7 p.m. at Taco Bell Arena.
