Broncos to host 15 home games this season.

BOISE, Idaho (7/26/2010) - Boise State University Head Women's Basketball Coach Gordy Presnell released the 2010-11 schedule this morning. The Broncos will host 15 home games and one exhibition contest during the upcoming campaign. The nonconference schedule has a regional flare to it including a home game against the University of Oregon.

The schedule still has room for one more contest. Presnell is currently searching for a team to come into Boise to fill the spot, but he could decide to go with just the 29 games he released today. There are currently four doubleheaders scheduled with the Bronco men's team, times have not been set for those contests. In addition, the Western Athletic Conference (WAC) schedule has gone back to a primarily Thursday-Saturday format for the 2010-11 season.

The Broncos open the season at home with an exhibition game versus Saint Martin's University, out of Lacey, Wash., in Bronco Gym on Nov. 7.  The regular season begins with a four-game homestand against the University of Portland (Nov. 12), Idaho State University (Nov. 14), Southern Utah University (Nov. 16), and concludes with Eastern Washington University on Nov. 20.

Boise State then has three games on the road when they play at Pepperdine on Nov. 23 followed by a tournament at future Mountain West Conference rival Colorado State University on Thanksgiving weekend where the Broncos will play Texas A&M-Corpus Christi (Nov. 27) and Texas Southern University (Nov. 28).

The nonconference schedule then returns home on Dec. 3rd when the Broncos host Paul Westhead's high scoring Oregon Ducks. Westhead led the Loyola Marymount University men's team to national prominence in the early 1990's when the Lions routinely scored 100-plus points per game. Last year in his first season with the Oregon women he had the Ducks ranked second nationally in scoring averaging 81.4 points per game.

The rest of December will have Boise State at home against Sacramento State on Dec. 11 and Saint Mary's College (Calif.) on Dec. 29th. They will hit the road for games at Seattle University (Dec. 5), at Weber State University (Dec. 18) and at Utah Valley University (Dec. 20).

The Broncos will begin their final trip through the WAC the weekend of Jan. 6-8th when they travel to Utah State University followed by a game at the University of Nevada.

This year's home conference schedule in Taco Bell Arena will have San Jose State University on Jan. 13, University of Hawai'i on Jan. 15, New Mexico State University on Jan. 27, Louisiana Tech University on Jan. 29, Utah State on Feb. 5, University of Idaho on Feb. 12, Fresno State on Feb. 17, and concludes with Senior Day against Nevada on Feb. 19.  The Broncos finish the season with a three-game road trip to San Jose State (Feb. 26), Louisiana Tech (March 3) and New Mexico State (March 5).

This year's WAC Tournament is being held in Las Vegas, Nev., at the Orleans Arena March 9-12.
