Canada advances to next round  at U19 World Championship.

PUERTO VARAS, Chile (7/22/2011) - Diana Lee and her Canadian teammates ran away from Egypt for a dominating 99-54 victory at the FIBA U19 World Championship for women's basketball in Puerto Varas, Chile.  The win was the second-consecutive victory for Canada setting up a showdown with Italy Saturday for the Group A championship. Both teams enter the contest undefeated with berths into the next round clinched. Lee recorded double-figure points Friday for the second-straight contest with 12 on four-of-five shooting from beyond the 3-point arc.

Lee, a native of Vancouver, B.C., and sophomore-to-be at Boise State University is tied for 18th in scoring average at 12.5 points per game. She is tied for the lead in 3-pointers made per game at 3.5 and is shooting 70 percent (7-of-10) from beyond the arc.  Her stat line versus Egypt was 18 minutes, 12 points, three assists, four-of-eight shooting from the floor and four-of-five from 3-point range.

There are currently six undefeated teams left at the tournament in Canada, Italy, United States, Australia, Brazil and France. After Saturday's games there will be at most four with Canada and Italy facing off, as well as France and Australia. Canada is ranked first in scoring with 175 points, scoring average at 87.5 points per game and average victory margin of 36 points.
