BOISE, Idaho Gordy Presnell, Boise State women’s head basketball coach, announced today the hiring of Calamity McEntire as an assistant coach.
McEntire comes to Boise State after spending two years at Santa Barbara where she served as director of women’s basketball operations. At Santa Barbara, McEntire was responsible for organizing film exchange, team travel and some fundraising activities.
Before working at Santa Barbara, McEntire was an assistant coach at Fresno State from 2004 to 2006. In addition to on-floor coaching at Fresno State, she managed recruiting and monitored academic progress of student athletes.
McEntire graduated from the University of Tennessee in 2003. While at Tennessee, she worked as an equipment manager for the Lady Vols from May 2001 to July 2003. She also worked as the equipment manager/gym director for the Pat Head Summitt Summer Basketball Camp from 2001 to 2003. During her two-year tenure with the Lady Vols, McEntire oversaw equipment operations, coordinated fundraising and marketing efforts and assisted the coaching staff in areas such as recruit planning, monitoring academic progress of student athletes and additional administrative duties.
McEntire played two seasons at Eastern Oklahoma State University where she led the Mountaineers to a Region II Championship and a No. 4 national ranking.
