BOISE, Idaho - Two members of the Boise State women's basketball team, rising junior Marta Hermida and incoming freshman Sofia Galeron, wrapped up weekend competition with their respective Spain national teams Sunday. Hermida, competing for a spot on Spain's U20 European Championship National Team, helped the U20s to a 3-0 mark at the Torneo de Arroya de la Encomienda in Valladolid, Spain, while Galerón and the U18 3x3 team reached the quarterfinals at the FIBA 3x3 U18 World Cup in Chengdu, China.

Hermida and the U20 team opened their tournament Friday with a 78-36 victory over Belgium before registering matching victories of 68-55 over Russia on Saturday and France on Sunday. The Bronco rising junior started Saturday's contest against Russia, grabbing a pair of rebounds in 10 minutes of action, and played five minutes in Sunday's contest against France, pulling down a rebound.

Spain will cut its roster down to 12 this week ahead of the FIBA U20 European Championship, which begins Friday (July 8) in Matosinhos, Portugal.

In her most recent collegiate season, Hermida averaged 8.5 points per game with 4.0 rebounds and 1.8 assists. The 2016 Mountain West Freshman of the Year scored in double figures in 14 contests in 2016-17 as Boise State won the Mountain West Tournament title and reached the NCAA Tournament for the second time in three seasons.

Galerón helped Spain's 3x3 U18 team to the top of Pool D at the FIBA 3x3 U18 World Cup in Chengdu, going 4-0 with victories over two-time defending champion France, Kazakhstan, Egypt and Singapore. The team's run, however, would come to an abrupt end in the quarterfinals, dropping a tough 14-13 decision to Hungary early Sunday morning.
