Boise State Announces 2015-16 Women's Basketball Schedule

BOISE, Idaho - In conjunction with the release of the Mountain West Conference schedule by the league office this morning, Boise State announced its entire 2015-16 women's basketball schedule for the upcoming campaign. This year's slate includes 16 home contests (one exhibition) and a road trip to the San Juan Shootout in Puerto Rico over Thanksgiving week.

The MW schedule will once again include 18 games with the Broncos playing eight of the 10 conference members twice and two of them once. The two schools that Boise State will face once during the regular season are Air Force who will come to Taco Bell Arena and at Fresno State.

The season begins on Friday, Nov. 6, with a home exhibition contest against Southern Oregon. The regular season slate starts on Nov. 13 in Bronco Gym where Boise State will play Cal State Los Angeles in the original home of the Broncos. The rest of the home schedule will move back to Taco Bell Arena including encounters against the College of Charleston (Nov. 16) and Utah Valley (Nov. 19) that will conclude a three-game homestand to open the season.

The road schedule begins with the Broncos traveling to San Juan, Puerto Rico, Thanksgiving week to participate in the prestigious San Juan Shootout where they will face Southeastern Conference member Auburn on Nov. 27 and Stetson of the Atlantic Sun Conference on Nov. 28.

Boise State then returns home to host Pacific-12 Conference member Washington State on Dec. 3. The Cougars are coached by former Bronco head coach June Daugherty.

The rest of the 11-game nonconference slate includes home games against instate-rival Idaho State (Dec. 11) and Concordia (Dec. 13), as well as three road contests at Portland (Dec. 6), at Seattle (Dec. 19) and at Eastern Washington (Dec. 21).

The Mountain West schedule begins with the Broncos on the road at two-time defending regular season champion Colorado State in Fort Collins on Jan. 2. The first home game is Jan. 6 when Utah State comes to town.

The rest of Boise State's home schedule includes: Nevada (Jan. 13), Wyoming (Jan. 23), UNLV (Jan. 27), Air Force (Feb. 6), Colorado State (Feb. 10), New Mexico (Feb. 17), San Diego State (Feb. 27) and the regular-season finale against San Jose State (March 4).

The MW Championship will be the week of March 7-11 in the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas, Nev. Boise State is the defending MW Tournament champion defeating New Mexico for the title this past March to advance into the NCAA Championship Tournament.
