Diana Lee a freshman to be at Boise State University this fall has made the Canadian Junior National Team in the sport of women's basketball. The 5-7 guard from North Vancouver, British Columbia, is currently working out with her national team in preparation for the FIBA Americas U-18 Championship which begins this Wednesday, June 23rd, in Colorado Springs, Colo. The Canadians will open their competition on Wednesday against Mexico.

Lee was one of 17 players invited to try out for the junior national team this summer. When the squad was announced she was one of 12 to make the team and is currently the projected starter at point guard for Canada.


The FIBA Americas Championship is a qualifier for the World Championship later this year. The qualifier is being held at the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs over the next week.


Leading up to the tournament Canada lost a scrimmage to the United States yesterday, Sunday, June 21, 57-39. Lee recorded three points and five rebounds in the loss to the U.S.A. Next up for Lee and her team is a scrimmage this afternoon (Monday) versus Brazil.
