BOISE, Idaho - Gordy Presnell, Boise State’s head women’s basketball coach, announced today the signing of Brooke Wheeler (Springville, Utah) to a National Letter of Intent. Wheeler, a 6-foot-3 center, is a junior college transfer from Snow College in Utah where she has played the last year and a half. The addition of Wheeler increases the Broncos’ incoming class to five, one JC transfer and four freshmen.

“We are excited about Brooke joining our team,” Presnell said. “She had a terrific year at Snow College. Brooke has a great upside to her game and she will bring a lot to our post game at Boise State.”

Wheeler earned first-team All-SWAC honors after posting an average of 11.8 points per game, as well as a team-leading 7.4 rebounds per game. She ranked seventh in the Scenic West Athletic Conference (SWAC) for scoring, second in rebounding, first in the SWAC and 37th nationally for field goal percentage hitting .548 (153-279), first in blocked shots at 1.5 and third in minutes played at 29.8.

She helped Snow College to an overall record of 19-12 and a SWAC mark of 9-6 to place third. The native of Springeville, Utah, earned two SWAC Player-of-the-Week honors and was named the team MVP this past season.
