WHAT’S HAPPENING
  • The Game: The Broncos (20-7, 10-6 MW) travel to Fresno, Calif., looking for their sixth-consecutive victory when they face the Fresno State Bulldogs (15-12, 8-8 MW) Tuesday night at 8 p.m. (MT) in the Save Mart Center. 

  • Next Up: Boise State closes the regular season Friday night at home against Air Force (4-22, 2-14 MW) at 7 p.m. in Taco Bell Arena.

  • Senior Night: Friday is Senior Night for the Broncos three seniors Brittney and Brooke Pahukoa, as well as Yaiza Rodriguez ... there will be a short pre-game ceremony in their honor.

  • Radio: KTIK (AM 1350) will carry all of the women’s games throughout the season. Chris Lewis is in his fourth season as the voice of the Broncos.

A QUICK GAME PREVIEW

  • The Broncos enter Tuesday’s contest on a five-game win streak and are 20-7 overall and 10-6 in league, good for fourth place ... the win streak includes a 69-59 road victory at Air Force (Feb. 11), a 64-62 home win over New Mexico (Feb. 15), a 53-43 victory at Wyoming (Feb. 18), a 77-74 home win versus Nevada (Feb. 22) and a 69-61 victory at San Jose State (Feb. 25). 

  • Brooke Pahukoa leads Boise State on the year averaging 12.4 points per game (12th MW) ... Shalen Shaw adds 10.9 points (18th MW) and team-high 7.0 rebounds (12th MW) per game ... Marijke Vanderschaaf chips in 10.7 points (19th MW) and 6.6 rebounds (16th MW) per game.

  • On the year, Boise State is second in the Mountain West for scoring offense averaging 69.5 points per game while shooting 40.1 percent (4th MW) from the floor and 32.5 percent (4th MW) from behind the arc. 

  • Fresno State is 15-12 overall and 8-8 in MW play, sixth place ... the Bulldogs have lost three (two in overtime) of their last four contests, but are coming off a 59-50 home win over San Diego State (Feb. 22) in their last game.

  • On the year, Candice White leads Fresno State averaging 15.1 points per game (6th MW) ... Bego Faz Davalos is averaging a double-double on 14.6 points (7th MW) and 11 rebounds (1st MW) per game. 

  • Fresno State is averaging 61.9 points per game (8th MW) this season, while allowing 60.5 ppg (5th MW) ... the Bulldogs shoot 40.8 percent (3rd MW) from the floor as a team and 30.0 percent (8th MW) from beyond the arc. 

  • This will be the second meeting of the year with Boise State winning the first contest 67-66 in Boise on Jan. 14.

  • This is the 36th meeting in the all-time series which the Bulldogs lead 24-11 and 6-2 in the MW regular season series.

  • Boise State has not won at Fresno State in the Gordy Presnell era and has lost 11 straight on the road in Fresno. 

  • Trivia Note: The last victory was Jan 15, 2004 by the score of 52-50, current Boise State assistant coach Cariann Ramirez, a junior at the time, came in off the bench to play 31 minutes tallying a team-high (tied) 11 points, seven rebounds, two assists, one block and two steals ... she also hit the game-winning shot in the Save Mart Center.


LAST TIME THEY MET
  • Last time they met was in Boise (Jan. 14) when Shalen Shaw hit one-of-two free throws with three seconds left in the game to give Boise State a 67-66 victory over Fresno State. 

  • Marta Hermida led all scorers in the game with 14 points, followed by Shaw who battled foul trouble most of the game but finished with 13 points. 

  • The Broncos led nearly the entire game but Fresno State kept it close and tied it up on five occasions, the last came with 2:08 to play on a Bego Faz Davalos layup to make it 66-66. 

  • That set up Shaw’s game winning free throw with three seconds remaining. The Bulldogs’ Candice White attempted a 3-pointer at the buzzer but it fell well short as the Broncos held on for the win.

TEAM NOTES
  • The Broncos are 10-6 in conference play following a 69-61 win at San Jose State last Saturday

  • Boise State is now 20-7 overall and has clinched its fourth-consecutive winning season and seventh 20-win campaign in program history ... the Broncos are 13-2 at home in Taco Bell Arena and 7-5 on the road.

  • Boise State has rallied from behind in the fourth quarter during three of its last four games to record victories over New Mexico (Feb. 15), Wyoming (Feb. 18), Nevada (Feb. 22) and San Jose State (Feb. 25).

  • On the year, Boise State has a balanced offensive attack and has had three or more players reach double-figure scoring in 20 of 27 games ... they are 18-2 in those 20 contests.

  • The balanced attack includes 10 players having scored double-digit points this season, eight have led the team in scoring at least once ... no one has led the team in scoring more than seven times (Brooke Pahukoa).

  • The Broncos currently have three players averaging double-digit points led by Brooke Pahukoa (12.4 ppg) followed by Shalen Shaw (10.9 ppg) and Marijke Vanderschaaf (10.7 ppg) ... five players average 8.0 or more points per game.

  • In MW play, Marijke Vanderschaaf leads the team averaging 11.3 points per game (15th MW), while Brooke Pahukoa averages 11.2 (16th MW).

  • Five Broncos have reached double-digit points at least 10 times each this season and a total of seven have had four or more with a high of 15 by Marijke Vanderschaaf.

  • Boise State is fourth in the MW for 3-point percentage as a team at .325 ... they have made 195 3-pointers this season and average 7.2 per game.

  • Defensively, Boise State ranks second in the MW and 12th nationally in 3-point defense holding opponents to 27.1 percent from beyond the arc.

  • Winter Chill, Boise State shot 38.8 percent from 3-point range in nonconference play to lead the MW and rank 17th nationally, since Christmas and the start of league play the Broncos have struggled shooting a chilly 27.4 percent to rank 11th in the MW (conference games).

  • During the current five-game win streak Marijke Vanderschaaf has led the team in scoring at 14.6 points and 7.8 rebounds per game ... Shalen Shaw averages 11.4 points and 6.8 rebounds per game. 

  • Head coach Gordy Presnell hit the 600 career wins milestone against Portland (Dec. 18), Presnell is the 32nd coach in NCAA DI history to hit the mark ... he now has 611 wins. 

  • Brooke Pahukoa leads the team and ranks 12th in the MW for points per game at 12.4 ... she has 14 games in double-digit points, six with 20-plus, including 21 at New Mexico (Jan. 18) and 23 versus San Jose State (Jan. 21).

  • Brooke Pahukoa has moved into 10th all-time (1,242) for career points at Boise State, 19 (1,261) short of tying for ninth.

  • Shalen Shaw is second on team and 18th in MW for scoring at 10.9 points per game ... she leads the team and is 12th in MW for rebounds at 7.0 per game. 

  • Shaw grabbed a team-high (tied) 11 rebounds in win over New Mexico (Feb. 15) to move from 15th on the Boise State career rebound list into 12th with 598 ... she now sits at 616, 11 short of sole possession of 11th and 31 short of seventh.

  • Shaw ranks fourth among active players this year in the MW for career double-doubles with 14, two this season.

  • Shaw went down injured in the game at Nevada (Jan. 25) and missed the next three contests, the Broncos went 1-3 in that stretch (including loss at Nevada) ... the Broncos are 5-0 since her return. 

  • Vanderschaaf is third on team averaging 10.7 points per game (19th MW) and has scored double-figure points in 15 contests, the most on team, including a career-high 26 in victory against New Mexico (Feb. 15), 22 at San Diego State (Jan. 7) and 20 in the win over Wyoming (Jan. 28). 

  • Marijke Vanderschaaf is averaging 6.6 rebounds per game (2nd on team / 15th MW) and has 16 games with six or more boards ... she had a career-high 16 in win at San Jose State (Feb. 25).

  • Rodriguez is second in the MW and 22nd nationally in assists per game at 6.0.

  • Rodriguez set the school’s career assists record earlier this fall at 452 and has since stretched it out to 587 ... fourth in MW history.

  • Joyce Harrell has started in the last seven contests averaging 4.5 points, 5.9 rebounds and 1.1 blocks per game. 

  • Harrell led Boise State in her second career start versus Colorado State (Feb. 1) tallying a team and career-high 13 points to go with a team high and career-tying eight rebounds.

  • Freshman Riley Lupfer has had a solid debut season recording 10 games in double-figure scoring to average 8.0 points per game with a career-high of 19 in win over Portland (Dec. 18).

  • Marta Hermida is averaging 7.9 points (4th on team) and 3.9 rebounds during conference play ... 8.7 points and 3.7 rebounds on the year ... she has 12 games in double-digit points.
