2017-18 CoSIDA Academic All-District Women's Basketball Teams

BOISE, Idaho - Boise State guard Marta Hermida was voted to the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District 7 Second Team Thursday.

It is the first CoSIDA honor for Hermida, who is a two-time Academic All-Mountain West selection and recipient of the Mountain West Scholar-Athlete Award. Hermida, a junior mechanical engineering major, boasts a cumulative grade-point average of 3.72.

On the court, Hermida leads the Broncos and ranks second in the Mountain West with 5.00 assists per game. She also ranks second on the team in scoring (10.8 ppg), rebounding (5.4 rpg) and 3-pointers made (26).

In Mountain West play, Hermida has been key for the Broncos, averaging 10.9 points and 4.69 assists per game as Boise State stands just a half-game back of first place through Feb. 21. The Broncos, at 18-9 overall and 12-4 in Mountain West action, have a chance to finish with the best Mountain West win total in program history with one more win over their final two games.

The Madrid, Spain, native was named Mountain West Player of the Week on Feb. 12 after averaging 23.5 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 4.00 assists while shooting 57.7 percent (15-for-26) from the field, 60.0 percent (3-for-5) from 3-point range, and 87.5 percent (14-for-16) from the line in wins over New Mexico (Feb. 7), and Utah State (Feb. 10).

Boise State returns to action Tuesday (Feb. 27), hosting San Diego State for Senior Night at 7 p.m. at Taco Bell Arena.
