Lenhardt and Isham combined for 40 points to lead Boise State.

BOISE, Idaho - Boise State battled to the end but unfortunately came up on the short end of a 74-68 score with TCU Saturday night in a Mountain West women's basketball game at Taco Bell Arena. The momentum went back and forth all night with the largest lead being 10 points by Boise State in the first half. TCU gained the upper hand on the scoreboard early in the second period then refused to let it go.

Lauren Lenhardt and Kati Isham kept the Broncos in the game combining for 40 points as the Broncos fell to 11-8 on the year and 2-2 in conference play. Lenhardt recorded her second double-double of the year with 22 points and 10 rebounds. She went seven-of-15 from the floor, with one 3-pointer, and seven-of-nine from the free-throw line. Isham scored 11 of her 18 points in the second period finishing the contest going seven-of-18 from the floor with three 3-pointers.

The contest was tight from the start with neither team able to pull away from the other as they traded eight leads and two ties in the first 20 minutes. The largest difference in the game came with 7:29 left in the first half when Keiahnna Engel capped a 14-3 Boise State run when she hit a layup to give the Broncos a 10-point lead at 23-13.

Down 10, TCU battled back to even the game at 29 all by halftime. The Horned Frogs closed the opening period by out scoring the Broncos 16-6 as Boise State went cold from the floor in the final four minutes going one-for-six on field goal attempts with four turnovers.  

TCU opened the final period with five straight points to take a 34-29 lead a minute into the half. The Horned Frogs never trailed again in the contest as they kept Boise State at arms length maintaining a small lead that fluctuated from one to six points until late.

Nicole Brady tied the game at 55 for Boise State with a 3-pointer at the 6:04 mark. TCU answered with a Natalie Ventress jumper and a Latricia Lovings free throw. Isham responded with the first of two 3-pointers in the period to tie the game for the final time at 58 with 4:29 to go.

TCU regrouped to take the lead up to as many as six points three times in the final minute. The Horned Frogs finished the game holding off the Broncos at the foul line converting on six of nine attempts in the last 1:08 of the contest.  

The Horned Frogs never led by more than six points. Boise State tied the game twice late in the contest but was unable to get the lead down the stretch as TCU came away with a big road win in Boise as it improved to 9-10 on the year and 2-2 in Mountain West play.

Boise State finished the night shooting 38.7 percent (24-62) from the floor, 28.6 percent (6-21) from the arc and 73.7 percent (14-19) from the free-throw line. TCU countered at 41.7 percent (25-60) from the floor, 36 percent (9-25) from beyond the arc and 71.4 percent (15-21) from the free-throw line. Boise State out rebounded the Horned Frogs 443 to 35 and 17 to 11 in offensive boards but was out scored 14 to 10 in second chance points.

Up next for Boise State is a two-game road trip to play at UNLV on Wednesday followed by a game at Wyoming on Saturday afternoon.
