The Broncos then ran off a 13-4 run to stretch their advantage to 23-13 with seven and a half minutes remaining in the first.

That gave the Broncos an eight-point lead, 55-47, with 2:05 remaining. With time running out, Hawaii then began to foul in order to close the gap. Boise State hit five-of-seven free throws, four by Jessica Thompson the WAC’s third ranked free throw shooter at 79 percent, in the final 30 seconds to seal the victory.
